Finally broke through the 100kg barrier
PB split jerk at 103kg and had a very close attempt at 105kg but it was a press out. Next time I’ll get it

The split jerk has been giving trouble for a while, especially with heavy load. Recently I’ve been playing with a concept for the dip of, “unlock your knees”, from @haworthweightlifting . With this she means that from a locked knee in the standing set up position, simply unlock your knees or “let your knees go” to dip, and as soon as you feel that action, it’s time for you to change direction (by the time you respond to the feel of this, the depth of the dip will be sufficient.)

I have simplified this concept for myself into the one word cue of “knees” and this execution has shortened my dip slightly AND improved my split position and bar placement noticeably (in look and feel) WITHOUT implementing any foot work drill or AT ALL focusing on trying to split in any certain way.

I tell athletes all the time that have concerns about their split (who are in fact struggling there) to FIRST assess and address the dip and drive to help their split position since a dip improperly done will lead your body astray in the split. Of course you need to know where you’re ultimately going, learn what the most effective split position is, drill it, get comfortable and strong there.... BUT, I believe far too many coaches and athletes overlook the dip and drive and attack the split position outside of optimal triage. .

Die German open sind nun Geschichte aber sie bleibt gut in Erinnerung.️♂️ Trotz kurzer Vorbereitung und aus der Aufbau heraus, konnte ich eine zufriedene Leistung erzielen. 137kg im Reißen Und 160kg im Stoßen haben mir den ersten Platz ermöglicht. Videos dazu folgen demnächst. Momentan habe ich keine in guter Qualität. Immer diese Probleme. So ist es halt, wenn man mit sehr wenig versucht etwas gutes zu liefern.
