So there is M1L (make 1 left) and M1R (make 1 right) Increases that slant in their respective directions. M1R is easier for me to do than a M1L and I was wondering why... Until I realized I use a M1R when any pattern says M1 but doesn't specify a direction. Then it got me thinking even further, do I use that specific increase because of the way that I knit (Continental)? Or do I also find that increase easier because I'm right-hand dominant outside of knitting? What do you think? What increase do you tend to use when it just says 'M1' in your instructions?
