I took the $10 plunge a bought an app called Stars2Apples that contains rewards and props for online ESL teachers. The app was created by a VIPKID teacher and her husband! I’m in awe of the talents and capabilities of this community. I taught all my classes with the app this morning and I have to say I’m pretty impressed! I know what you are thinking... but Google Slides is free! TRUE. But... this app was made for teachers who don’t use a program on their computer (like many cam) and like to use digital rewards. Here are the pros and cons: PROS: •it is user friendly with no lag •there are ready made props and rewards (FAS, make a scene, guess a word, tic tac toe, build something) •you can create your own rewards with images and gifs. •you can add to your props with images and gifs •you can share the content you create with other app users •the makers will continue to add to the app •you can plan and schedule lessons •you can use on an iPad CONS: • there is not near the amount of content as Google Slides • it is $10 (one time) • it is only for apple users. • Would you pay $10 for this app? or

Fidget spinner rewards idea. This game/reward is a favorite for my regulars...and their parents I play it with upper level students and a few of my level 2s that have the conversation skill to participate. It’s simple. I put anything in the bag, give a hint every time I give a star and they guess what it is. I encourage them to say whatever comes to mind, the goal is to get them talking.
