After having tried so many older vintages of Château Malescot St. Exupéry, I was curious to taste the most recent one.

I really enjoyed the 2018 On the palate it was balanced with smooth tannins and well integrated oak. Definitely on my purchasing list @chateaumalescot #AlpineCellar

Pure BLISS! Spectacular lineup from @psgarcia_wines Straight Fire!! BRAVADO is harvested from schist hillside on the slopes of the Itata Valley, a blend of red varietals that encompass the spirit & history of Chile’s oldest winemaking region. FACUNDO is a Carignan based blend with killer power that channels the elegance and complexities of both Maule & Itata Valley.
2016 Domaine Rostaing - Côte-Rôtie Ampodium (90 pts) @polanerselections ·

♂️ Have you tried wines from René Rostaing❓·
·
ℹ️ Tasted single blind (aka I knew the region) at one of my wine tasting groups. The theme was 2016 Côte-Rôtie. This wine is Syrah from Côte-Rôtie in the Northern Rhone. Grapes come from vineyard sites throughout the appellation. Stem inclusion and length of maceration depends on vintage characteristics. Only native yeast fermentations. Aged in 225 l and 500 l oak barrels with around 20% being new·
·
Medium ruby color·
·
Medium intensity on the nose. Aromas of ripe raspberry, strawberry, red plum, black pepper, lead pencil, earth, oak, and smoke·
·
The wine is dry, medium+ acidity, medium+ grippy tannins, medium+ alcohol, and medium body. A medium length finish of raspberry and black pepper·
·
This wine was 5 of 8 for me in this blind tasting flight. René Rostaing is considered one of the stars of the appellation. He is an interesting combination of traditionalist and modernist at the same time. There is no formula, he adapts his wines as he sees fit based on experience. His cellars are immaculate and you will never find Brett on his wines. This wine is more of my preferred style. Oak is used, but just for balance. The fruit is ripe without being overripe. Very enjoyable wine and has a long life ahead of it·

In Blind, We Trust
My #MondayMotivation: Make Bold Decisions. If you haven’t heard of @rjvwines it’s time to pay attention. Big, bold, beautiful Cabernet Sauvignons that boast concentrated blue and black fruit bouquets, beguiling veins of acidity that melt into graphite inflected tannins, and both strength in the glass and finesse on the palate. Who wants a glass?
@cdp_fine_wines hosted an event during En Primeur where we got taste some incredible wines. One of the highlights was getting to meet @guillaume_selosse and tasting some of the most sought after champagnes on the market.

This N.V. “Largiller” is made from 100% Pinot Noir It differs in style to the other Selosse wines as it doesn’t show so many oxidative elements. On the palate it is lean, crisp and terroir driven with lots of potential for aging. A must try for any champagne lover and I look forward to tasting this soon again #AlpineCellar
