In China, many people do not sterilize their dogs. Often during rescue missions, we find pregnant females. During our 6/19/18 rescue of dogs headed for the Yulin Dog Meat Festival, there were dogs literally giving birth as we rescued them. We do our best to save the mothers and newborn puppies but the conditions in which they have been kept means that not all of them make it. Here, No Dogs Left Behind Founder Jeffrey Beri holds a dying newborn puppy, showing each little one love in their final moments.
