The Three Musketeers - this is a very silly film that I remember not being impressed by when I saw it at the cinema years ago but I actually really enjoyed rewatching it the other night. It’s fun in a cheesy way and has a great cast

The fortified village Bourtange is a very special place. Originally it was built during the Dutch Revolt, late 16th century, as a military defense place. It lost this function in the 19th century and in 100 years time it became a ghost town. In the 1960s the local government decided to completely rebuilt the village, as it was around 1742. People now live here again and it's visited by many tourists. We are wearing our Dutch Revolt 17th century costumes. Jamestown - I’m really enjoying season 2 of this show - not sure if it’s because it’s a good storyline or just because I really fancy the blacksmith ‍♀️

Tale of Tales - this rather strange film is based on the fairytales of Giambattista Basile. The 17th century costumes are absolutely gorgeous and it has a fantasy vibe to it with ogres, witches and monsters - worth a watch if you can cope with the weird! ‍♀️

The Libertine - I was excited to watch this because the restoration is one of my favourite periods of history but I didn’t enjoy it very much. Rosamund Pike was hardly in it and I felt it sort of skimmed over all the interesting bits of John Wilmots life and just focused on his demise

I finally got to watch Tulip Fever I understand why some people said the story wasn’t great - it was perhaps a bit slow - but I enjoyed it, and the costumes are incredible
