T-town Half Marathon 2019
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Why is it always so nice all week & when it’s race day, it’s either raining, very cold, icing or strong cold winds. It seems like every race this year, it’s been something lol. The Marathon I did 2 weeks ago on March 3rd (Little Rock) it was so cold, cold wind, rain, & sleeting and even hailed some. I just did go Girl half marathon last weekend and it was cold & raining. And today I did the t-town half, and the rain did stop before the race, but it was so freezing cold & strong cold wind. Of course I was freezing before the race started because I was wearing a tank, shorts & my visor, I thought it was gonna be nice out & plus I always get hot when I run, and I did not want to wear my jacket.
I started off great, and felt great & even stayed cold the whole time. The 1st half was great, & the wind was in my back and when I got to the half way point and turned around to head back, that’s when it started going down hill The cold strong wind was in my face and I already have a hard time breathing & so it made it even harder to breathe and felt like I was fighting the wind lol. If you scroll to the last pic you will see when I started to struggle on the way back. (Finish Time was 2:16:48 - got 6th out of 24 in my AG)
When I came across the finish line, I needed to get into the store fast, I was so frozen, couldn’t stop shivering, my whole body felt frozen. Once I got into the store, I didn’t want to go back outside, and I literally stayed in there for over an hour after the race lol. I didn’t even want to go outside to take my after race pic, & took it inside sitting lol (2nd pic). But once I got my jacket, I at least wanted to get a picture outside with the building of the medal behind me (4th pic is the medal up close & you can see the building). I’m posting late because when I got home, I passed out. Guess the wind today really wore me out lol.
I really loved this course today & still had a fun time. Thank you so much to all the volunteers being out there & fleet feet for another great race.
Up next: 3 more half marathons coming up

Ran a 1:23:56 at the T-Town Half Marathon for the overall win. It was extremely windy and I didn’t taper at all (a first for me), so wasn’t sure what to expect. We decided to treat it as a marathon effort workout, so I focused on running strong without going to the well, which wasn’t hard to do on a day like today. This will be the last finish line I cross until the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon in four short weeks, and I can’t wait to see what these legs can do. Also, my amazing sister @sara.sexton ran a new half PR! So proud of her! : @lancecalebmiller
Sweetheart Run 2019 - Double Run 5K & 10K
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Did the Sweetheart double run today & I know I could have done better but that cold wind was hard. Still had fun & enjoyed being out there running. If you scroll all the way to the last 2 pics, you’ll see my time & what I did each mile for each race. Also a bunch of pics with some running friends & you all did awesome today! Up next: Post Oak Challenge trail race next weekend & I’ll be running the Double, Saturday & Sundays race. Just hoping it doesn’t rain As always thank you @fleetfeettulsabrokenarrow for another great race and thank you to all the volunteers!! Hope everyone has a great weekend!
For the most part I don’t mind taking my turn working wknds. I like routine and it tends to keep me more fitness focused over the wknd.⏰ #gym #gymworkout #workout #strength #strengthtraining #weights #weighttraining #liftweights #lift #girlswholift #girlswholiftweights #muscles #fitness #health #legday #quads #hamstrings #exercise #fitspo #fit #fitchick #fitgirls #runstrong #runner #9run8 #runtulsa #tulsarunner
To be honest, I didn’t even want to post this. I was aiming for a sub-1:30 and I ended up with a 1:46. It wasn’t in the cards today and I found that out at mile TWO. Shit hit the freaking fan. I have no idea what happened. I’m trained well. I know I can run it. But my legs gave me a big fat HELL NO the whole way. Tulsa Run and I have always had a love/hate relationship. I enjoy it and the atmosphere of a bigger race, but I always have a sucky time Won’t stop me from signing up next year! Seeing my son and hubby at the end was the best part of my day because I knew I was done and didn’t have to run another step! But it’s done. Tweaking goals for @route66marathon half might be in order and the sub 2:10 might be a dream to keep chasing for another race. It’ll happen. I know it will happen. Only it might not be when I want it to. Movin’ on. @runtulsarun #tulsarun #runningontulsatime #9run8 #womensrunningcommunity #womensrunning #inspiringwomenrunners #fitmama
Saturday Marathon training
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
I can’t move right now lol but, I almost hit 20 miles. I did 19 miles today, 3 miles before the group run, 10 miles w/ the Fleet Feet Tulsa marathon training group and 6 miles right after. I haven’t ran that many miles since about this time last year, so I forgot how hard Marathon training is lol. I tried to get what I can in today because the next 4 weekends are races, which includes my next marathon. Now time to go bowling Hope Everyone has a great Saturday!!

Did the GSGLGVL 5K this morning & battled the brutal cold wind (24F 22mph wind with wind gust up to 44mph) and spots of ice on the trail. Because their was slick ice spots on the trail, I was being very careful and took it slow. So not only did I managed to finish the 5K but also without falling at all and even placed in my age group . Sometimes it’s not about how fast you are but just finishing the race. Awesome job to everyone who ran today.
Thank you to @fleetfeettulsabrokenarrow & all the volunteers on this super cold windy day for coming out and supporting us crazy runners.
