It’s Day 6 of the #selfiegamechallengethingy and I’m highlighting my family’s favorite game - Azul! I gave my parents a copy of Azul last year and they got hooked! It is now a staple of our family game nights, and the competition is tough!!!⁣ ⁣ The charity I’d like to share today is Room to Read - this unique charity is out to tackle illiteracy and gender equality. Across Asia and Africa, they is help create a habit and lifelong love for reading, along with supporting girls to finish secondary school with the necessary life skills they'll need to succeed. Donations go toward sending a girl to school, starting a library, or building a classroom in third world countries. I grew up in a country that did not have public libraries. I was one of the lucky ones who grew up in a family that could afford to send me to the best schools and always had a well-stocked home library, but thousands of children did not have that luxury. This is why I believe in the mission of Room to Read and wholeheartedly support their efforts. ⁣ ⁣ I loved seeing everyone’s posts this week and I’m sad it’s almost over! Если вы так же как и я любите продумывать на несколько ходов вперед, выстраивать стратегии и делать правильное решение в сложившейся ситуации,  то попробуйте поиграть в эти игры. . 1. Колонизаторы. Мореходы. Самая простая и самая любимая игра. Правила легкие, многое зависит от вашего везения и умения договариваться с людьми, т.к. если вам не выпадают нужные ресурсы, придется торговать с другими игроками. Мореходы - это дополнение, к базовой игре. Отличная семейная игра, знакомая многим. . 2. Гранд-отель Австрия. Не сложная игра с простыми правилами. Кидаете кучу кубиков, в зависимости от выпавших значений, строите свою стратегию. В игре нужно заселить постояльцев в номера, предварительно выполнив их капризы. . 3. Кланы Каледонии. Если вы любите занимать территории, заниматься производством товаров или торговлей, игра для вас. Очень красивая игра, над которой надо немного подумать. Много доступных действий и почти нет кризисности. Всегда можно продать что-нибудь не нужное, чтобы купить что-нибудь не нужное  . 4. Великий Западный путь. Просто шикарная стратегия! Очень красивое оформление и куча способов прийти к победе. Сложность средняя. Смысл в том, чтобы набрать побольше очков. Основная идея - это продажа коров, но помимо этого мы строим здания, дающие бонусы, нанимаем новых работников, развиваем железнодорожные станции. . 5. Проект Гайя В этой игре мы колонизируем космос. В игре 14 рас, каждая со своими особенностями, которыми нужнограмотно распорядиться. Поле модульное, каждый раз можно создавать новую Вселенную. Огромное количество путей по которым можно прийти к победе. Правила довольно сложные, но игра просто шикарна! . 6. Момбаса Наверное, самая сложная игра в нашей коллекции. Экономическая стратегия с захватом и контролем территорий, с покупкой акций и увеличением их стоимости. В начале игры надо выстроить стратегию и следовать ей. Просчет идет на несколько ходов вперед. Игра не для слабонервных. . А вы играете в настольные игры? Какие предпочитаете?

These are my boys... I packed board games to the roof for my bachelor party most didnt get opened. It's always the games you never plan that make the highlights. After playing a free app called piccolo I'm would pay for it, it got the group engaged together and gave us great memories. First play of Istanbul tonight! Our flgs had a copy in their game library so we decided to check it out. It has an interesting movement mechanic - you start off with a stack of workers underneath your merchant and drop them off as you move up to two orthogonal spaces on the board, and you can only perform the action on the spot where you land if you have at least one worker underneath you. This meant that we had to really plan and think about the sequence of the actions we wanted to take to maximize each turn before having to recall workers. ⁣ ⁣ Being able to capture other players’ workers and send them to jail in exchange for money was also interesting, and reminded me a bit of Architects of the West Kingdom. I won handily thanks to two things - one was advice from a seasoned player (thanks @swordandboardgames !) and the other was misinterpreting the rulebook and playing the Small and Large Mosques completely wrong!! We watched a video when we got home and realized we made a few errors. Whoops!
