These 3 cuties and I are headed to visit family and friends in a few days. Traveling internationally with three kids all by myself is a little daunting, but these kids are usually pretty good travelers. All that said...any great ideas or tips for long days of traveling with kids They each have a tablet and will have books to read and snacks to eat. That’s about where my creativity ends .

I recently received an extremely kind encouragement from a friend who knew me very well during a time when I was at my lowest in every way. Seeing how far I’ve come through someone else’s perspective has helped me to realize just how far I’ve come. . . I had another friend recently comment that I have become so much more “grounded”. . . It feels good to have others who see AND acknowledge my progress but here’s the thing... NOT. EVERYONE. WILL. Some will try to make me think I am still who I was. And you will most likely have people like this, too, because we can’t always rid ourselves of toxic people. . . Sometimes they are our family, neighbors, co-workers, co-parents, etc. And while we cannot extract them from our lives we CAN extract their influence and power over us. . . Though they may still criticize, we CAN be free from the bondage of that criticism. . . Friends, it is important to surround ourselves with those that will cheer us on because they drown out the voices of those that are trying to tear us down. . . Who do you have around you that reminds you of how far you’ve come and the bright future that is ahead? If you don’t know them, find them!! ❤️ #pursuebetter

It’s Wacky Wednesday at school today and only @nr_stone would be wacky enough to agree to adding my 3 crazies to their 4 crazies while Scott and I are out of town (and during spirit week no less!! ). They may be wacky, but I am so grateful for them! Living far away from our families is hard (especially when brand new nieces are born and you have to wait 4 weeks to hold them!), but I am so grateful we have friends who have become family. It takes a village and I LOVE my village. If you think of it over the next few days, say a prayer for our friends Nate and Rachael who have a very full (and probably a bit louder than usual) house right now ❤️. And if you have a village that you’re thankful for...tell them! Tag them here and let them know that you’re so grateful you aren’t doing this parenting and life thing alone .

Happy Mother’s Day (again) to me! ❤️❤️ Here in the Dominican we celebrate Mother’s Day this coming Sunday - so obviously I am double dipping and celebrated American Mother’s Day too! Us moms need all the breakfast in bed, homemade cards and extra love and appreciation we can get, right? And this morning this little man recited a poem for me and we drew pictures of the things we love to do together. It’s easy to take these little moments with our kids for granted, but as this is my last preschool Mother’s Day program I am reminded just how fast time goes!! He was literally a baby in my arms like 2 days ago. What the heck?! Anyone have a time machine so we can go back

Day 1...or 1 day? I know it’s a cheesy saying, but I’ve totally been there. Ever said something like this? I’ll start one day...after this event when life settles down. I’ll start next month - who doesn’t love fresh starts? I’ll start once the baby is sleeping through the night. I’ll start once the kids are out of school for the summer. I’ll start when the kids go back to school. I can’t afford it right now so I’ll start once my finances are a little more in check. I just don’t feel very motivated right now so maybe once I feel more ready. I can’t even workout right now (insert reason) so I’ll start once I’m cleared for that. I get it. We all have our reasons (ahem...excuses) for waiting to start taking care of ourselves...and they all feel totally valid. I’ve heard them all and used a fair share of them myself! I’m right there with you! But seriously?! Tough love coming at you...when will life ever slow down, your finances be right in that perfect sweet spot, your plate with just the right amount of empty space to add something new? Want to know the answer? Probably never! Does that mean you should put yourself on the back burner forever? No! You are far too important for that! Your health is far too important for that! Your kids deserve a mom who has energy to play with them. You deserve to feel good in your own skin again! You just have to decide if you are worth taking care of. You have to decide if you are going to reach out to that person who inspires you and ask for help (doesn’t even have to be me!!). You have decide if your desire to change is greater than your desire to stay the same. If you’re ready I’d love to help you figure out a plan! It doesn’t even have to include working out if you aren’t there yet. I’ve got a great nutritional course that we can work through together. And if you’re ready to jump all in and get your health AND fitness in gear I can help you with that too! What I’m saying is...I’ve been there.
