Fingers crossed, the #winter is ALMOST over. This means that the #heat will be here in full force soon. So, we’re going to discuss the basics of #hydration.
How much water should I be #drinking?
Typically, I recommend drinking ATLEAST half your #bodyweight in water to my athletes on days they are not #training. Soo if my athlete weighs 200lbs, they should be drinking ATLEAST 100fl/oz of water throughout the day.
BUT if my athlete is doing any form of training, their drinking ¾ body weight in water. So that same 200lb athlete is now drinking 150fl/oz of water. Mainly because they must replace all the fluids lost in training, as well. Make sense?

When should I be drinking water?
Timing is everything! Say it with me, “You CANNOT just CHUG your entire days fluid-intake in 20mins!” This one #kills me. I have athletes tell me they’re still #dehydrated after drinking the #recommended amount of H2O today. Timing has a lot to do with hydration. If you drink nothing all day, then #drown yourself in water at the end of the #day to hit your #goal-it’s not the same. Your body can only process about 15-30fl/oz per hour. Anything more just goes straight through you. So, the answer to when should I be drinking water? ALL. DAY. LONG.

I dry left over veggie scraps easily in my balcony and have dried them to use for cooking veggie stock. I just wait until I have a full basket of veggie scraps, and throw them into a pot. You don’t need to freeze the veggie scraps in the freezer. You can free up some freezer space ! The stock is so much better,too

Acidic Beyond Belief
We learn from a very young age to never lick a battery because it has acid in it. Well, here’s a fun fact for you. Battery acid (pH=1), Coke/Pepsi (pH = 2.5), Mountain Dew (pH =3). Is your mind blown yet?
