Here's a photo from the one day I didn't have my phone on me last week. A friend clicked this rain drenched, yoga-ed out and happy picture. My 3 week wellness run is coming to an end. In this time I have been able to stay on plan mostly (food, sleep, exercise, spirituality) - on #day22 I feel well-holidayed, and quite relaxed. The one thing I have learnt is that the mobile phone is the enemy - all the times I slacked is because I picked up the phone and couldnt resist the onslaught of notifications. The hack I figured is to leave it on airplane mode - so even if I turn to the phone for the camera, calcilator, notes and clock, cutting out the notifications can substantially reduce screentime. So woke!

It's time for me to harness complete control of my little bad boy. Love. Hate. It's a necessity. However, rabbit holes of phone usage distracting from what's important..On the phone in front of the smalls and not paying full attention. Just stuff we all do but don't want to or be.. App detox going to be installed again. Deadlines looming, time to reflect and work. Use don't abuse innit. Good to think on this and get healthy relationship with the phone moving forward ... #switchoffmode. How do you control your phone usage or do you feel it is out of control?

Are you crystal clear on your goals? The majority of my clients come to me with two main goals: 1. Less pain 2. Better function/movement This is a great place to start! But, what I have found is that if we don’t chunk it down into more specific goals we may not see all of the changes and improvement that occur. Often a person will achieve LESS PAIN quite quickly, but they still have some pain, which typically as humans we FOCUS on. It’s not until we delve deeper and ask questions like what’s the pain out of ten now? How far can you walk without pain now? How often are you getting headaches now? That they might think WOW! Although I still have SOME PAIN I have come a long way from when I started care. So I urge you with your goals to be a bit CLEARER. This example is for a particular health goal, but you can use it in any part of life. So now when people start Chiropractic care I ask them specific questions that I re-ask after 6 weeks. While the pain may still be there (imagine a pain you’ve had for years) it’s often a lot better than before AND they may not realise the other changes that have occurred in the body over that time. If you have pain at the moment, check in with yourself - Where is it? What time of day is it at it’s worst? What’s it stopping you from doing? How far can you walk, jog, run without pain? If you can walk 10 minutes pain free, make your goal to walk 20 minutes pain free! Do you have any health goals you’d like some CLARITY on? The end of my “digital detox”

Water makes me feel SO calm. . I don’t know what it is about water, but it puts me in a meditative state.‍♀️ . One study showed that people who live near the ocean are less stressed & in better health than those who don’t. . Although most of us don’t live near the ocean, #MarchBreak is around the corner, which means many of us are planning vacations down south. . So, if you’re going away, here’s my advice. . Do a digital #DETOX and leave ALL phones, tablets, and whatever else in the hotel. . Take time during your holiday to connect with the ocean. . Listen to the waves. . Give gratitude. . And most importantly, be present. .
