These are 6 of my favorite moves for sculpting beautiful strong shoulders, with the bonus of helping prep for some baby lifting!Perform them slow and controlled and with an appropriate weight or band that you can lift without momentum. Shoulders are a muscle group where I notice improved results when I go lighter, because I can more effectively isolate without my dominant traps taking over
.
I’m using a long resistance band in the majority of these moves (available in the link in my bio). While I love bands here because they provide sustained tension throughout the entire rep, you can also perform these with weights or whatever you’ve got around the house, such as cans of beans or water bottles

I’m activating my core (lifting pelvic floor and engaging my transverse abdominals) on each exhale during the effortful part of each rep, and releasing and softening on the inhale as I return to start position. This is most noticeable in the first move (banded lateral raises) as you see my belly lift and gently hug baby during the exertion and lower and soften on the release. Happy sculpting!

Holy crap so much has changed since these photos were taken. I’m in my 14th week of pregnancy right now and I could shout from the mountain tops how grateful I am to not be sick anymore. •
With Hugh I was sick until almost 20 weeks, so I am more than pleasantly surprised to be feeling better so quickly. It’s amazing how after not feeling well you are incredibly appreciate of your normal functioning body. •
I took some video diaries during my first trimester (posted in my stories today) and feel like I’m SO dramatic in them but I think back and I was seriouslyyyyyy struggling. I can’t believe how quickly we can move forward from something that feels so overwhelming at one point.

The bump is coming in hot, my muscle tone is softening, and I am so grateful for my body and this healthy baby.

Tailbone pain

During pregnancy, the hormone relaxin causes relaxation of the ligaments in the pelvic floor, which allows the coccyx (tailbone) to shift a little more than usual, which can cause pain
▫️
My tailbone has been killing me lately! There is no quick fix to this, but there are a few movements that I have been adding into my routine that give me A TON of relief

I am constantly amazed at what the female body is capable of. Watching my body go through all the drastic changes is incredible, but hard at the same time.
▫️
Seeing my defined muscles I have worked so hard on over the past 7 years disappear can leave me feeling defeated at times. It sounds so selfish to say it out loud, but it’s the truth!
▫️
There have been times where I look in the mirror and don’t recognize my body and I wonder if it will go back to the way it was. Or if I have to start from scratch and rebuild. But who really knows?! Only time will tell, so there’s no need to stress over it.
▫️
I am human, after all, and am learning as I go. It’s perfectly okay to have moments of weakness. This is all apart of the journey to motherhood.
▫️
If you’re going through this, I want you to know that you’re not alone! It’s all going to be worth it in the end ♥️
