Hand-eye Coordination ! Check this out ✔️ .
.
.
◾ Hand-eye coordination is a complex cognitive ability, as it calls for us to unite our visual and motor skills, allowing for the hand to be guided by the visual stimulation our eyes receive.
.
◾Hand-eye coordination is especially important for normal child development and academic success, but is also an important skill that adults use in countless activities on a daily basis .
.
◾The neural control of hand-eye coordination is complex because it involves every part of the central nervous system involved in vision: eye movements, touch, and hand control ✋.
.
◾This includes the eyes themselves, the cerebral cortex, subcortical structures (such as the cerebellum, basal ganglia, and brain stem), the spinal cord, and the peripheral nervous system .
.
◾You can improve hand-eye coordination through various exercises that challenge the brain to respond to hand movement via stimulus from the eyes .
.
◾LIKE & SHARE to spread the KNOWLEDGE ♥️ .

Bringing anatomy to life! This fun little demo represents each one of the terminal branches of the pudendal nerve: the perineal, dorsal and rectal branches. You can have pain with 1, 2, or all 3 of them. We have to be the detective and figure out where each is getting caught up and irritated when we experience pain in this region. That might mean we have to follow the whole pathway of the nerve and figure out whether it’s a spinal component or a peripheral component driving the problem. Would anyone like to see a video demo of this fuzzy setup?
Awesome post @lenmacpt about Physical Therapy being a less invasive and cost effective option for meniscus tears. @perfectstridept we have been able to save countless folks from having a surgical procedure and return to optimal levels of performance as well! So, if you know someone with a meniscal tear that is about to get surgery without getting physical therapy tag them in this post!(Also, remember this is one study, while there are others out there supporting this claim we need more robust studies to validate this claim further) ・・・

PT vs Scope for Meniscus Tear ⠀⠀
.⠀⠀
Effect of Early Surgery vs Physical Therapy on Knee Function Among Patients With Non-obstructive Meniscal Tears: The ESCAPE Randomized Clinical Trial. van de Graaf VA et al JAMA Oct. 2018⠀⠀
.⠀⠀
Among patients with non-obstructive meniscal tears, PT was equal to arthroscopy for improving patient-reported knee function over a 24-month follow-up⠀⠀
period. ⠀⠀
.⠀⠀
They went on to say that "Based on these results, PT may be considered an alternative to surgery for patients with non-obstructive meniscal tears."⠀⠀
.⠀⠀
So, basically if there's no bucket handle tear present that may be blocking joint range of motion, then it is highly encouraged that the patient #GetPT1st and not do surgery.⠀⠀
.⠀⠀
Without going out on a limb, I'd say this is a much more cheaper treatment option as well and would save society many costs associated with the surgery and lost time from work.⠀⠀
.⠀⠀
I do note a couple limitations: the surgical group did not get PT after surgery if they did 'as expected' but they could get PT to help improve their symptoms.⠀⠀
.⠀⠀
The PT group did pretty basic exercises although leg press, lunges and balance type exercises were included.⠀⠀
.⠀⠀
Have you read this paper? It was a multi-center, randomized controlled trial performed in 9 hospitals in the Netherlands.

Plantar Fasciitis Rehab ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I think most people at one point or another in their lives have had some plantar fasciitis. Whether your feet hurt after a long day on your feet, or after a long run, or a hard workout. It’s much more common than you think. Here’s a great share by @bigleagueperformandrehab and his video model @thelittle_giant
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
️♀️It’s commonly known that Plantar fasciitis can happen in people who overpronate because of the elongation of the fascia and associated microtearing that can occur. However, people who underpronate can also be at risk. This doesn’t allow the foot to absorb force as you move through the gait cycle, creating too much rigidity.
.
The plantar fascia helps keep the medial longitudinal arch via the Windlass Mechanism. This occurs when you lift up the big toe into dorsiflexion and plantarflex the first metatarsal. This helps create a rigid foot needed for efficient propulsion and push off. If this mechanism is altered, there may be flattening of the arch which can put excessive stress on the plantar fascia.
.
✌️Another place we look to help minimize the amount of time we spend in pronation is posterior tibialis strength. It’s a primary arch stabilizer, that’s going to help eccentrically control the arch as we move.
.
⛹️♀️If you’re just rolling out your feet everyday and nothing seems to be changing, try these out and let me know how you do! If they’re still bothering you and you live in the bay area, shoot me a DM so we can get you moving better again!

TAG, COMMENT, SHARE with a friend who can’t stop rolling their feet out with a lax ball‼️
