I finally did it!! Behold the circle sculpture . . I love trying new builds with our @grimmswoodentoys rainbow, but I'm embarrassed at how ridiculously hard this was for me! At first I thought the problem was my wonky rainbow so I tried the 10 piece sunset instead, but I absolutely could not get that one beyond 7 pieces high (swipe for photo - I think it's really pretty). Rainbow hockey! Getting the boys moving and using their gross motor and hand eye coordination skills this morning. I spent part of the morning colouring these little wooden marbles so I just had to use them in an activity. I set up our grimms rainbow down the hall and asked the boys if they could get the balls through the arches one at a time. The original idea was to use the straws to blow the balls through the arches... but that was too hard. So we adapted it, and used the straws like hockey sticks. This was still pretty tricky but Lawrence persisted and managed to complete all the arches. Rupert gave up on the straw and opted to roll the balls through by hand. But as he did he identified each colour and proceeded in order so I was very pleased with that. . This activity took quite a bit of concentration and very careful, controlled movements from the boys. . Rainbows can be found at @littletoytribe .
