❗ ❗ . Louis was rescued from a dog meat truck on the way to the Yulin Dogs Meat Festival. He was servely wounded all over his body when we found him. The butchers had beat him so badly on his head and feet that he could barely walk. Many dogs on the same truck were badly beaten and many died, despite our best efforts to treat them.  Louis could not understand why humans did this to him but he had a strong will to live. No Dogs Left Behind medically treated him, evacuated him to safety, and rehabilitated him. A wonderful adopter came forward and soon Louis will be in a forever loving home in USA. . ❗On May 5th, 2017, brave Chinese activists intercepted a dog meat truck tightly packed with 660 dogs heading for the Yulin Dog Meat Festival. Many of the dogs were sick and dying. No Dogs Left Behind arrived on scene and quickly established protocol, setting up quarantine huts to stop the spread of infectious disease and providing veterinary care and vaccinations to every single dog. Kelly was one of the fortunate dogs saved on that day, saved from being meat. We learned right away that Kelly was pregnant but had lost her puppies in the truck. Even with all that Kelly went through, from being kidnapped by the dog meat traders while pregnant and stuffed into a small metal cage, and with all the death she had witnessed that day in May, she is a sweet and gentle dog, kind to humans and other dogs. , , ⠀ My life almost ended two years ago. My story with No Dogs Let Behind starts on that historic day, June 19th, when I was rescued by brave activists. We were cramped tightly in horrific conditions in a dog meat truck, heading for the Yulin Dog Meat Festival, where thousands of dogs are tortured, cooked and eaten each year. My face was smashed by the butchers and my body was covered in trauma wounds. I was in pain and so scared! No Dogs Left Behind treated my wounds, administered rabies and distemper vaccinations, de-wormer, and flea and tick medications. They showered me with love and rehabilitated me. I LOVE NDLB, the staff and volunteers but I need a home. I am a 2-year old furry bundle of joy, or so I am told. I like to play, with you, other dogs, the entire family!
