How high should you pull your foot up to maintain the running pose? That should be none of your concern. The height and trajectory will be naturally determined by your speed. And the speed is determined by your angle of falling. You need to simply maintain your running pose as you fall forward and change support. Runner on Left has been suffering with shin pain. You can see that he is Pushing as his action, pressing his body weight via foot into the ground then trying to pull up, which becomes a push. He is missing the opportunity to use muscle elasticity as you can see his movement pause on the ground. This will slow down his movement + increase impact in his run.
Notice that I am using muscle elasticity to Pull foot Up from ground. You can see the action is below the knee, foot pulling using muscle elasticity + hamstring.
Note that he has to stop to change direction, if you are unweighting your foot, you have plenty of time in the air to rotate, from hip.
