PAPER CUP STACKS || I took this photos ages and ages ago, and have argued with myself for weeks over whether or not I should I actually post it It just seems too basic! I'm posting it anyway (obviously), as there is actually so much learning involved, despite the fact it's basically a pile of cups . To play, we labelled paper cups with numbers using washi tape, and then we stacked the cups in number order. It's a great activity for learning about numbers and for practising both fine and gross motor skills!

For toddlers, creative play is about creating, imagining, and expressing themselves. Providing a variety of materials to explore is a great way to encourage creativity. We love Rainbow Toast because it turns familiar materials into a new and exciting experience! ••••• You'll need: bread, milk or water, food color or natural dye, paintbrush 1️⃣ Fill a small container with a tablespoon of milk or water. You'll need a container for every color. 2️⃣ Add 1 drop of food coloring or natural dye. Mix. 3️⃣ Using a new paintbrush, paint on a piece of bread using the colors. 4️⃣ Toast the bread in the toaster (or oven if it's too soggy) and enjoy! ••••• This activity requires adult supervision. Our family does not have issues with or sensitivities to food dyes. If this is a concern of yours, modify the idea to meet your needs. There are several natural food dye products and recipes available.

Flower Watercolor Resist. For today’s #makeamesswithwater activity, I drew flowers with white crayon and stems/leaves with green oil pastels. The cutting tray has been out a lot lately as my two year old is suddenly fascinated by scissors and eager to snip. She was struggling with regular scissors so I purchased some easy grip scissors from @educationalexperience recently. They make it easier by 'springing' open and the child just has to squeeze to close and cut. The tray itself is filled with materials of different texture to chop away at. I love paint chips (colour swatches) as they have the lines drawn on already. We’ve never been so excited to finish a bottle of milk before. We spotted this super idea for a recycled car wash on the awesome’s @themakermum a while back and saved it instantly . If you’re not already following Rachel then do as you need her nature/recycled/cardboard crafts in your life ❤️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ . As soon as we got home from the school drop-off we got to making our own version. We added little strips of a plastic bag for the cars to go through after seeing @bluebeatnik’s version. Totally recycled materials and water play in one and it only took ten minutes to make ♻️ He’s still out there now whilst we’re enjoying a hot cuppa. Hello #tufftray Tuesday! It’s colour wheel day and our #invitationtoread is #theusbornebigbookofcolours which is a great next level book introducing shades tertiary and mixing colours. We have a separate shade station of neutrals which Ivy dove right into. Eva used a clear glass right away to make rainbows layers and one of the littles observed her and did the same.
