ROTATOR CUFF STRENGTHENING - Two badass exercises to fire up your rotator cuff, engage and test scapular strength, and move your shoulder through their full functional range - 1️⃣ Aply scratch movement with a bar. This can be done with a band if your would like as well. The important part is you press the bar away from your back forcing the rotator cuff to fire - Can’t do it? That’s alright, start without the bar and just actively bring one arm over head and one arm behind the back. Then switch in the opposite direction - 2️⃣ Cuban press: this should be done with a very light bar (or band). The goal is to control the weight slowly through a full range of motion - Remember, these exercises are meant for rehabbing and maximizing the health of your shoulders. They are meant to be challenging but NOT to create pain. - If your having shoulder pain regularly, GET IT CHECKED! SAVE YOUR SHOULDERS • These 3 exercises are great for strengthening and warming up your rotator cuff muscles and the shoulder overall. Try them out before your next workout • Banded Y-Raises - Use a light resistance band - Step on the band and cross it at the hip - Grab the band with your thumbs up and hands neutral - Raise up and out overhead in a Y-formation - Repeat for 10-12 reps and 2-3 sets 3-Part Shoulder Complex - Grab a pair of light dumbbells - Upright row the dumbbells up - Externally rotate them back to a shoulder press position - Then press up and reverse the motion one part at a time - Repeat for 10-12 reps and 1-2 sets TRX Semi-Circles - Use TRX straps or rings - Lean back and pull the straps in towards your chest - Pull your hands out into a T-formation - Circle your hands to the top and slowly bring them down - Repeat for 8-10 reps and 1-3 sets • Make sure you save the video and share with a friend • #shouldermobility #mobility #shoulder #shoulderrehab #mobilitywod #mobilitytraining #injuryfree #injuryrehab #physicaltherapy #rotatorcuff #rotatorcuffrehab #shoulderinjury #fitness #flexibility

The classic exercise shown can be good for some people, however it is only strengthening a muscle and not a movement pattern. If you enjoy that exercise then that’s fine, but at least make sure your set up is appropriate and keep the shoulder back. If you want to advance the exercise to start changing the function of your shoulder then try these 2 new exercises! . 1️⃣ Ext Rotation Punch: get some resistance on the band, begin to externally rotate, but now keep the angle of your elbow and rotate through the shoulder to punch towards the ceiling. This is still activating the infraspinatus muscle but in a more dynamic way. . 2️⃣ Standing Rotation: turn and face towards the band, raise the arm out to 90 degrees and keep the elbow bent at 90 degrees. PNF Stretch by @guerrillazen - Have neck, back, or shoulder dysfunction & bad posture? - Try this then! - Get a bench, bed, chair, or anything stable at knee heigh or slightly higher. - Kneel down in front of it and place your elbows on it. - - From here lace your fingers behind your head and allow your head to go between your elbows (keeping the neck in a neutral / straight position). - Drive your elbows down into the bench very hard (activating your lats) without allowing your body to move. - From here, relax the muscles and allow your chest to naturally sink a little lower towards the ground. - Do this for about 4-8 rounds.
