Running is when both feet are in the air, ankles relaxed, gravity landing the lifted foot close to under body. During run ankles move in response to gravity acting on lifted foot, so pronation and supination can happen naturally in the air, as ankles are relaxed. ❌Landing ahead of body requires intent, runner is trying to control landing, tensing ankle and actively reaching for the ground. This delays recovery to running pose, and extra time on ground slows down your run and increases impact. ✅Runner only needs to Pull in response to ground contact and Fall, gravity will land lifted foot close to under body, recovering running pose without delay, minimizing ground time and increasing time in the air, running. Running is when both feet are in the air. The running pose is when one foot is on ground under body, weight on ball of foot, knee bent, ankle under hip, ears-shoulders-hips in line. Goal is to recover pose on ground, in 1-2 frames to start Fall, Pull and get back in air to run. The body is in balance in pose and now fall can begin, once Fall begins, Pull foot Up from the ground. Gravity lands lifted foot. Like a piston, one foot goes up, the other comes down. You only control the Up. ✅Practice standing in the running pose as well as pulling, both can be done stationary. ❌Avoid kicking back, ankle behind hip, active hamstring and now you are out of balance, not in pose, shoulders will travel forward to try to balance ❌During Run you will bend at waist, missing opportunity to fall and kick back, loading the hamstring, lifted leg will land early, slowing down run + increasing impact ✅Swipe⬅️to see the Pull practice, Pull ankle up under hip, recovering pose Skill practice is exaggerated, during run only pull foot up from ground then release to run!
