Wow. I cannot believe how crazy this journey has been since I posted the picture on the right earlier this year. 40,000 of you following me and to this day I have no idea why, I’m just happy that so many of you are learning to love and embrace everything about yourself I don’t even recognise the girl on the right anymore. Dull tired cystic acne skin so unhappy to fresh and bright eyed not giving a fuck about anyone’s opinion other than my own. Stop fighting a constant battle with your mind and make peace with what your life is. Build on what you believe in and love, be kind ALWAYS but also selfish sometimes. It’s ok to work on yourself to be the best you can be, it’s okay to look in the mirror and love what you see it is NOT ok to treat yourself any differently than you would friends/family. I challenge you to smile when you next look at yourself in the mirror, even if it’s super forced just smile and look at how beautiful you really are!! Ok the lighting is different, but I’m still shocked sometimes when I look at how much my skin has changed in the past 4 months! I’ve had a tough week on accutane and I’m getting pretty fed up with it, but giving myself a little kick up the butt and reminding myself that it is SO worth it. Just keep believing. Just keep moving forwards ✨

I have been suuuuuper fed up with taking accutane the past couple of weeks. Back and joint pain have flared up, I’ve been feeling dehydrated and sick and the fatigue has hit me. But do you know what isn’t going to help me, dwelling on all of those things. Accutane has been incredibly effective and totally worth all of the annoying side effects, the discomfort is only minor compared to what used to go on in my head whilst suffering with my worst acne! Not everyday is going to be great, but there is great in everyday ✨

Yes, I know most people want to help when they say "Drink more water" or "try Haldi" and I really appreciate your gesture but the truth to the matter is that, to me, it feels like you're just reminding me of all the things that didn't work, feels like your telling me to fix something that isn't right or change something because it's ugly. I know you guys mean well, but if you really do want to help, the best thing you can do, for everyone with acne or body image issues is to aid us in our quest for self acceptance and love. The next time you encounter someone with acne don't remind them of it with your advice (trust me they would have heard it or googled it) instead try not mentioning it. Why does acne have to be disgusting? Is it because the skin care commercials say so? What if we saw things differently? Beauty is subjective. We should stop accepting the ridiculous standards the cosmetics industry has set for us. Everyone is beautiful because beauty has no rules. No wrong way to be colorful . . I felt like getting my creative on today. I am LIVING for matte color full eyeshadow looks for this spring and summer. Such a fun and refreshing look for a neutral shadow gal. Am I the only one who spend my study breaks to do makeup Only me? Ya okay. Only eyeshadow and lipstick today though, this weekend I will have made it through an entire month without face makeup . . . Don’t get me wrong: I LOVE makeup. I mostly love the creative aspect of makeup. But for me face makeup especially have always been a must and almost a security blanket in a way. Going without is first and foremost saving me TONS of time in the morning which is just purely practical. I have also found that with practice I have become more comfortable to show my scars. It’s all about rewiring your mind by doing something over and over again until it feels less uncomfortable.
