The beach bar "Tibu-Ron" near Barcelona has come up with an alternative clean-up campaign: for each pint of cigarette butts collected at the shore, the bar will give out a free pint of beer. . [ Les larmes de sirènes ‍♀️] . Voici un déchet souvent méconnu que vous allez peut être retrouver sur les plages cet été. . Il s'agit de petits granulés plastiques de quelques millimètres d'origine industrielle qui sont fondus pour être transformés en objet de tous les jours : sacs plastiques, jouets pour enfants, meubles de jardin, bouteilles de shampoing…et divers autres objets en plastique... Ils peuvent être issus du recyclage ou bien provenir directement de la transformation du pétrole. On en trouve de toutes les couleurs mais les plus fréquentes sont les nuances de blanc translucide, blanc grisâtre ou jaunâtres. . Plusieurs milliards d’entre eux traversent les océans tous les jours, à bord de containers, pour approvisionner les usines de parts et d’autres de la planète. Ils se retrouvent ainsi dans nos océans à cause de déversements « accidentels » ou négligences... Les granulés deviennent donc des polluants avant même d'avoir été utilisés... . La densité moyenne du nombre de larmes de sirènes est estimée à 300 000 unités/km2 à la surface des océans et 100 000 u/km2 au fond de l’eau. . Bon nombre d’entre elles sont ingérées par les animaux marins et picorées par les oiseaux. Ils empoisonnent ainsi toute la chaine alimentaire, humains inclus. . Pour celles qui ne sont pas ingérées, l’érosion se charge de répandre les substances toxiques qu’elles contiennent pour contaminer les eaux et les vagues les déposent sur les plages sur lesquelles on en trouve des quantités impressionnantes. . @oceans8brighton have been working together to bring the first official Pride clean-up to Brighton. This was the sight of the beach at 5.30am on Sunday morning after the all-night partying, and then the 1.5 tonne haul of trash collected within 1km by the wonderful volunteers that came out between 7am to 3pm and got stuck in with our silent disco! This was a sight to behold, and an emotional day, and we are eternally grateful to everyone who came together and rolled up theirs sleeves to protect our patch of the earth - the community spirit was beautiful . Our core volunteers worked tirelessly sorting through the bags and we’ve been able to recycle half of what was picked up - including the AMAZING team at @lushbrighton who were literally on the floor sorting trash all day!!
