We played The Castle of Burgundy with random player boards for the first time. And what a great experience it was! The advance boards had a significant impact on our strategy, and completing smaller regions helped us score many points during the first two rounds of the game, which is very challenging to do with the beginner boards. The average winning score of 7 games with the beginner boards (all two-player games) was 168, and I was able to score 200 (game-best) with the advance board. I don't think I'll ever play this game with the beginner boards again! How do you play The Castle of Burgundy? Do you use the advanced boards? Root This is definitely a fun and unique gaming experience. @tiltedtoken and I played a two player game (the intro scenario with the Cats and the Eyrie) and I really enjoyed it. I think this will definitely be a game to introduce to our Friday night gaming group. Anyone have any favourite characters to play with? I have a feeling I would enjoy playing as the Vagabond, and I definitely want to try playing as the Alliance as well!

Clans of Caledonia Ok, this is another one of my favourite Euro games. I have played it with two and four players and enjoyed both experiences. It is a perfect weight euro game for my gaming group!! So much fun!

Today we checked most of Lisbon’s bg stores. Arena is the most interesting one - many titles, few very old and hard to find. Minus is that most of games are overpriced. We even found #battlemist from 1998. Lotus Market store is a dying place, you can consider visit only if u are a fan of #magicthegathering . Last was Kult Games store - the biggest place from all 3 shops. Has some interesting titles, but with only around 20-30 games on shelves - it’s mostly place for playing. And prices - this place is horribly overpriced, #rootboardgame costs 75 euro here! Good news are that most games in Lisbon are in English.
