I have a thing for deliciously aged interiors. With distressed walls and furniture that looks as if it has a story to tell. Garden Project Week One... Lots of digging and leveling. Removing all the old pool paving Putting in power and water Graveling and compacting paving areas ready for the concrete bases Big progress but then no work this week as they are waiting on some materials and it’s a holiday Thursday. Laugh of the day....emmanuel was marking out the paths in the orchard and asked me to come and have a look. As we walked around he pointed to a section and said...there are the new trees...all I could see was a spindly trunk and so asked exactly what type of fruit tree had he planted. Didn’t have time over the weekend to post a garden update. The rain bucketed down for most of the week but they managed to get all the steel edging done for the herb/cutting flower section of the garden. You may look at the picture and just see square metal boxes but I see masses of peonies, roses, dahlias..boxes of absolute happiness Emmanuel @emmanueltaillard has been hard at work on the stone walls pruning the old grape vines, removing creeper we don’t want but keeping a lot of the lovely little plants that have made their home between the stones and cutting back to creeper that had totally taken over one of the entrances to the walled garden. So gradually it all starts to take shape. I enjoy seeing the progression and the artisans at work but another part of me wants to press the fast forward button and have it all now. Finally after 5 & half years of collecting mileage. Less than a month to go before we are moving to our beloved home in France. . . (Inspiration) So many things to do on my list.
