Today I randomly woke up super early, (May have had something to do with the fly that kept dive bombing my face ) which allowed me to start my day with a beautiful yoga session (ok, thanks, fly ). I then did my chores and was done by 8:30am (that’s super early for me, usually I’m done around 10:30am as mornings aren’t usually great for me) helped with finishing up the milking, worked in the garden harvesting food for me (picture in the basket) and food for my rabbits and ducks and chickens (the big arm full). I picked three bushels of white apples that we will make into apple sauce tomorrow, then had some down time, lunch and a nap. Heading back out to make dinner, do chores and have qt with the hubs before bed. One thing that bothers me so much with my mystery illness is being exhausted most of the time and not being able to do mornings at all. It’s that time of year! Canning has begun. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We had a bunch of cucumbers and dill last week, and picked up some garlic from my friend Amanda at @limestoneacresfarm to make dill-icious dill pickles! #ballmason ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I LOVE dill pickles. We will continue to make them in small batches as the cucumbers roll in so we have them throughout the year.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We will also be making dill carrots, (so so good!) and I’ll be making beet chips this week too! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Right now we are making apple sauce from our white apple tree. Today's Garden Bounty!!

Home Made Mayo Recipe! I LOVE mayonnaise but each and every mayo is made with canola oil (which my body doesn’t tolerate well) and a bunch of other ingredients that aren’t great for you, so I decided to make my own! Here’s the recipe that I found online and tweaked a bit: Ingredients, 1 large egg at room temperature 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard 1 tablespoon white vinegar 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt, or more to taste 1 cup of avocado oil (you could use MCT oil instead but you want one that stays liquid at all temps) 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Make Mayonnaise: Add egg to your vita mix or small bowl of food processor for 20 seconds. (Note: I tried using a crappy blender and it didn’t work) Add the mustard, vinegar, and salt. Process for another 20 seconds. Scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl, turn the food processor on then begin to slowly add the oil in tiny drops until about a quarter of the oil has been added (this is critical for proper emulsification). When you notice that the mixture is beginning to thicken and emulsify, you can be a little less strict. With the processor on, continue to add it slowly, but increase to a very thin stream instead of drops of oil. When all of the oil has been added, scrape the bottom and sides of the bowl and process for an extra 10 seconds. Taste mayonnaise for seasoning then add salt, lemon juice or extra vinegar to taste. Keeps well in the fridge for about 10-14 days. I haven’t tried freezing it yet but I will. Ps it’s delicious!!! Bear and Bella: Like 2 peas in a pod. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m super grateful we have two pups. Since they’re still so young they need to be able to play together, and I don’t want them to try and “play” with the goats, as they would most likely hurt the goats. So this is a much better solution.
