Pill bleeds are not periods. PERIOD. And this image from @fertilitycharting explains why quite vividly. . In order to have a period, ovulation has to take place. But hormonal birth control shuts off your hormones and prevents ovulation (which btw is how we get progesterone, nature’s chill pill!) . It also prevents the body from making fertile cervical fluid. . I just don’t understand why our society believes it is a good idea to shut off a women’s entire hormone system in order to prevent pregnancy. Especially when women are only fertile a few days each month, but men are fertile 365 days a year. Stew on that one for a sec. . For those of us not on hormonal birth control (I'm not saying we're better! I understand there is a time and a place for HBC and girl, it's YOUR choice!) we can identify our fertile window by observing our cervical fluid, in tandem with charting our temperature and cervical position. . I don’t understand why society deems it appropriate to impose restrictive laws on women when it comes to family planning. .‍♀️ . Men are fertile 365 days of the year and women are fertile only a few days a month.. . Hey-no one said this conversation was easy. .‍♀️ . Whether your pro-choice or pro-life, here is what we’re working with (at least in regards to the U.S.A.) . The majority of family planning is placed on the woman. Other than a vasectomy and condoms, there is no other viable option for men. No form of hormonal contraceptive for men currently exists. They’ve had trials, but they all ended prematurely because the participants complained of side effects, such as depression, loss of libido, and nausea, even suicide.. (But these side effects are OK for women, right..) . Fertility awareness is not a life skill taught in schools. There might be a few but it is generally an exception to the rule. Catholic schools do teach teach NFP (Natural Family Planning) but most schools do not provide an exhaustive sex education program that teach women how to chart their cycles and know their fertile windows so they can either plan or prevent pregnancy. We’re basically raising a body illiterate society. And no Wanda, abstinence only sex education is not exhaustive. . . As far as I know, if a women gets pregnant and can’t afford the baby, the government is not going to give her a loan or float her in order to raise said child. (Yes, there is welfare but we all know that this is probably not enough and average maternity leave is 2 weeks.) . Not all insurance plans in the U.S.cover hormonal contraceptives . . A baby is grown in a woman’s body so they have no choice to walk away (unless she gives up for adoption) but the male can leave at any time. And many times even get away without paying child support. . . My main fear is a woman who is pregnant and doesn’t want to be can get desperate pretty quickly if abortions are made illegal. It’s situations like these that can turn dangerous. . I personally believe abortion is healthcare. I’m open to hearing the other side, because the only way we can understand is to engage in dialogue. But please keep it respectful.

Durante la mayor parte de mi vida estuve 100% convencida de que la gente que se cuida con métodos naturales era "irresponsable", "loca", "hippie" o "ignorante"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ¿Por qué va uno a arriesgar la posibilidad de un embarazo no deseado si es tan fácil tomarse una pastilla? De verdad que para mí no existía otra posibilidad, me parecía una locura no tomar pastillas⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ¿El problema? No sabía la mitad de la historia⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ No sabía que los anticonceptivos hormonales funcionan apagando por completo el sistema reproductivo (ni siquiera me cuestionaba cómo funcionan)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ No sabía de la larguísima lista de posibles efectos secundarios (¿quién tiene tiempo de leerse el papelito con la letra chiquita? The short answer is, an Intermittent fasting practice shifts the body from burning glucose/glycogen to burning fat for fuel. To answer how fasting contributes to fat loss, lets break it down. . ✅Fasting promotes detoxification: Most toxins are stored in our fat cells.
