Do you remember my yellow stripe play dress? It’s got a twin now! Out of all the fabrics in my stash, the leftovers from my yellow dress was what Saga chose when I was going to make her a dress. I had to add black side panels since I didn’t have quite enough fabric. I really love that though, when you use what you have and that becomes part of the design. . . The pattern is drafted by me. I won the fabric from @ssefabrics last summer and it’s the most slippery viscose jersey you could ever imagine. Lovely to wear, awful to sew. Live pics of Saga to come, of course! . . I received a lot of praise when I posted my striped dress in March (swipe ), since I had managed to match the stripes perfectly in that terribly slippery jersey . I thought dress number two would be a breeze to sew compared to the first one, but I was wrong, very wrong. Every seam seamed like a failure as I sewed Saga’s dress. I wanted to give up several times but I’m really pleased I didn’t. If you look closely, the dress is not perfect everywhere, but Saga is as pretty as ever in it and she loves it. And that is so much more important! I worked hard to accept my imperfect work and actually felt that I was teaching myself an important lesson. This was my outfit to church today. My #b6318 mattress cover dress is a definite, new favourite as it is both comfy and becoming. And I have a new bag! It is SO cute. I feel so fashionable whenever I wear it. My outfit is topped off with clogs and tulle slip. I have started to believe that tulle is always a great addition. It’s subtle yet festive.
