This is the #willowtank from @grainlinestudio cropped and made using up all my linen scraps. I got the idea from @elbe_textiles who has a great blog post with some useful tips. I always knew one day my patchwork would creep into my clothes and am rather happy with the results. The finished #kellyanorak I made this version for my best friend @ntynt2 and I can’t wait to see her wearing it! She is smaller than me so I cut a size 4 and took out 1.5 inches from the length and the sleeves. From my grey version I learnt that using cotton lawn as the lining is not the best idea as it isn’t as easy to slide the sleeves on as it would be for a typical silky lining. I had this really nice quality plum coloured lining in my stash from a trip to Goldhawk Road and thought it went perfectly with the mustard. It works much better as a jacket lining than the cotton lawn. Fabric is the Robert Kaufman mustard yellow ventana cotton twill from @sewmesunshine.uk I have seen a few versions of this pattern made using this fabric in the various colours and it does work perfectly! It is soft but still has the structure you need for the jacket, and comes in lots of different colours! I once again enjoyed making up this pattern, the instructions are so easy to follow! I already have a few winter versions I plan to make. But for now I am excited to move on and start planning some summer sewing projects ☀️ Hope everyone is finding some time to sew this weekend ✂️

In preparation for #mmmay19 I’ve been going through my handmade wardrobe and working out which clothes I never wear and why. This #sewoverit wrap dress came to my attention. Despite being very well made (if I dare say so myself) I never feel like wearing it. It wasn’t until I rolled up the sleeves that I realized what the problem was - the long sleeves weren’t working for me. So I cut them off. Now it feels like a proper summer dress and I love it. I had never funded a project on Kickstarter before, but when I saw @sugardale’s designs, I changed all that. Trista’s designs are incredibly thoughtful and I love the vintage style! The soft drape and subtle wrinkling of the fabric give it a really casual vibe that I am way into. I was challenged a bit in the construction of this guy, but in the best way. Still pluggin’ away at my @stylearc #steviejeanjacket and I have completely abandoned the included “instructions”. Both @heatherandthepugs and @meesh.made suggested I use the #hamptonjeanjacket sew along, and it is working a real treat. Amazing how similar the two jackets really are. I redrafted the pocket bag to be big enough to get caught in the placket and waistband (thanks to some great advice from @_southlandcurve) and I couldn’t be happier. How cute is @megannielsenpatterns new #mncottesloe swimsuit pattern? My togs drawer is overflowing after making a bunch of different suits before my vacation, but I couldn't say no when they asked me if I wanted to review the new pattern. I just really enjoy making swimsuits! So I made this red hot number for one of my friends. I think the sporty style is going to suit her down to a tee. . . I can't comment on fit yet, but the suit came together beautifully. The elastic measurements provided are spot on. I made the low rise bottoms and I think they're definitely low. Sort of a surfer chick vibe ‍♀️. I can't wait to see other people's versions! . Fabric is nylon spandex from @joann_stores, in the cosplay section.
