Missing the beautiful Ibiza sunsets already ... I’ve realised how much better fresh air and sunshine makes me feel whilst I’m this big..... Also cutting down the meat in my diet has helped massively for some reason, just need to up my iron intake !!!! 7 and a bit weeks to go now. BIRTH STORY Firstly I’d just like to say thank you for everyone’s lovely messages! They mean so so much! Early hours of Saturday 1st I woke up for the loo but realised my waters had broken. I was so happy that I’d done it all myself and didn’t need an induction, as I was booked in to have my waters broke on the Sunday. I woke up Brad to tell him I was in labour. After a couple of hours of waiting for my contractions to start, I rang the hospital who told us to come in to confirm my waters had gone. We went in and they confirmed that they had broken and gave us an appointment for 8am Sunday 2nd for just in case my contractions didn’t start. I spent the whole of the Saturday completely relaxed! My mum came round, my sister @lenny_leo88 came round and plaited my hair, and did some reflexology and reiki. I had a few spontaneous mild contractions but nothing was starting on its own. I woke up on the Sunday morning a bit disheartened that nothing had started. I’d been using @thepositivebirthcompany digital pack and I really wanted to avoid going on the drip to start my contractions. We went to the hospital for 8am and my sister @hayleyandlife met us there, as she was my birth partner with Brad. At around 2pm we was taken up to the labour ward and I was so so happy to learn that my sisters best friend @corinnelaverick was my midwife and automatically felt at ease. She checked how far along I was and tried to break any remaining waters. This alone put me in full blown labour and I panicked and asked for an epidural, as the contractions were so powerful straight away. In the end there was no time for anything but gas and air and a little diamorphine. I was in established labour for an hour and half before I was ready to push. Alice Olivia Tanner was born at 17:05pm. There was meconium present but thankfully our little Alice hadn’t taken any in and she was perfectly fine. We are so in love with our little girl and so happy that our big girl Daisy loves her just as much as we do. we are so so happy and in this beautiful little bubble adjusting to life as a family of four. ‍‍‍ #birthstory #mummyblogger #mummybloggersuk #xmumshine #pregnancyblog #mybirthmystory

I’m a pretty private person when it comes to special family moments and sacred times, and posting this doesn’t change that. But I’ve realized through sharing tidbits of our life that sometimes it helps someone, and I’m down for that. Four months ago today, Rockwell was born in our living room with all of his brothers and sisters waiting with open arms. Literally. Zoom into this photo- this was taken the moment we discovered he was a boy. We were 100% expecting a girl, so this is sheer surprise and elation the moment it was announced. If you look closely, every single one of us is celebrating. I’ll never forget that moment that Rockwell was bonded to our family forever, it was pure magic. I can’t say this enough.... let us normalize birth. Make it a positive thing. It’s fun. It’s beautiful. It’s one of the very few once in a lifetime events you can truly only do one time. No matter how a baby comes into this world, we need to show mothers, fathers, and children that birth is not a scary, awful, terrifying experience as so many are sadly taught. I give my highest respect to every woman that births, no matter how and what the journey looks like. A lot earlier than planned I watched the love of my life, bring a new life into the world. We are overwhelmed, overjoyed and apprehensive of what’s to come. Mummy and baby are well and resting.
