It's tempting to skip that middle of the night pump when our babies start sleeping through, right? But... Should we? Skipping a MOTNP (middle of the night pump) randomly can really hurt, first of all... Breasts can become engorged and you could develop a clogged duct. Also, skipping the pump COULD result in a dip in your supply because your body may not think it needs that milk. Can you eventually drop this pump? Absolutely! If your supply drops more than you're ok with, add that pump back in! So how do you drop it? You can try to move your midnight pump back gradually, hour by hour. You can try to reduce the time of the pump, just pumping to take the edge off and relieve discomfort until your body gets used to it. When did YOU drop your MOTNP? . .
