Schönen guten Morgen, ihr Lieben, zum #lilleselfiemonday den ich heute am Feiertag eröffnen darf! Der frühe Vogel und so ... Hier ist noch alles ruhig, aber die Sonne lacht schon herrlich vom Himmel. ☀️ Ich geh‘ dann mal frühstücken und anschließend drehe ich eine Runde mit dem Rad. Mein heutiges Outfit finde ich perfekt für dafür. Leider reichte der Lief Strawberry nicht mehr für ein ganzes Shirt. Na dann gibt es eben nur die Hälfte daraus! Den Rest habe ich einfach mit Lief Lemon ergänzt. Ich finde es wunderbar sommerlich und erinnert mich schwer an das Rezept für Erbeerlimes. SM von Shirt ist Unikko aus dem ersten LilleMag. I’ve got some really in-depth projects coming up. I’m working on 2 Jasika blazers, ginger jeans (that I started about 6 months ago) a Kelly anorak (which I purchased the fabric for approx 12 months ago) and a pure silk dressing gown so, it may be a while until I share more completed projects! . I thought it was time to started on the more difficult patterns that I keep putting off (mainly because I’ve got no brain power left) but realised that I work best when challenged! . I spent yesterday cutting out the silk, it makes it so much easier to lay the silk on top of paper (I use my roll of pattern paper) then cut through both the silk and paper, it then cuts like a dream rather than swishing and sliding about (I use an older pair of scissors that I don’t mind cutting through paper). . . In the meantime here’s a really simple self drafted peplum top in light weight polka dot denim. I wear this top loads . I’ll keep you posted with my progress on the above! . The #kabukitee from @paper_theory has interesting angled inset sleeves and works equally well in both vowen and knits. It’s a quick make and highly recommended. I’ve made two, the light blue is in cotton shirting from @misanretail and the off-white is in linen jersey from @wearethefabricstore. We had such a lovely day out in Cambridge yesterday, exploring and doing a bit of shopping. I visited one of my favourite fabric stores @thecambridgefabriccompany such a pretty shop with a beautiful range of fabrics. Of course I couldn’t leave empty handed! I wore my #soivintageshirtdress for the first time as the weather was so lovely. I love this dress because it makes me realise how far I’ve come on my dressmaking journey, a year ago I would have shied away from those button holes and that collar - now I enjoy the challenge of learning something new. @stylemakerfabrics just added a great post to their blog on the Jasika Jacket by @closetcase.patterns (link in Style Maker’s IG bio) I have found this jacket to be such a wardrobe staple - not sure why I’ve never owned a linen blazer before. This 100% linen fabric is so nice I was able to pack it in my suitcase for a recent business trip, hit it lightly with an iron when I got there, and I was good to go for day and night wear by just switching up the styling a bit. Since I needed to sew this up last minute for a @sewexpo sample there was no time for fitting and I just decided to go with one size larger and ended up with a bit of a boyfriend fit. I have a few tiny tweaks I will do for my next version which is going to be basic black. My daughter purchased fabric on a recent trip to NY so that I could make one for her as well (blazer batch sewing) . The Closet Case Jasika tutorial wasn’t available when I was making this but I do own their jeans tutorial which is great. I’m sure if anyone is hesitant about giving a blazer a try the tutorial would hold your hand all the way through.
