Here is a little work in progress shot of my #jasikablazer . I haven’t had a chance to work on it since Monday because I have come down with a seemingly never-ending stomach virus, but here is a little closeup of the trim with some topstitching eye candy. I hope to regain my energy to sew again soon! ❤️

#memademay2019 today I’m wearing my new @akpatterns Samantha dress in a cotton jersey from @guthrieghani * @athinakakou kindly gifted me her pattern to make in April so I’m very apologetic about the delay in making/posting. I worked quite a few weekends in April/March and time flew away. * I did struggle a bit with this project. When I got the fabric I was a bit disappointed, the colours were just less vibrant than I expected and it was also a tad thinner than I’d wanted. Customer service at Guthrie and Ghani was however really good when I flagged this up. * This pattern is pretty quick to make (it has dolman sleeves, have to admit I think I probably prefer a set in sleeve but they are quick!) I tried to put pockets in but they just weren’t working so I took them out. I also struggled a bit with fit, it’s a looser fit than expected so I’d suggest if you like more fitted size down! Also the bodice was soooo long on me, I’ve taken 3/4” off but I’ll probably take more next time! * I love the skirt and cute arm ties (although they might not be the most practical for work so I’ll see if they survive). I also added in some neckline straps to open the neckline up a bit- I love this idea and will use it again for sure. * Overall I’m much happier with the dress than I expected.
