✔️ Dips help kids learn to try new foods. Pair a familiar dip (llike ketchup or hummus) with an unfamiliar food like broccoli or chicken as a more comfortable way for your child to learn about these foods.

✔️ Dips can offer nutrition! Cooked tomato in marinara sauce and ketchup (yes, ketchup!) offers lycopene. Olive oil is a great source of unsaturated fat. Yogurt is a good source of calcium/ vitamin D/protein.

**Make sure to look at the salt content, remember you can make your own and not add salt.
You can start offering as early as 6 months (make your own eg: yogurt with cinnamon or herbs, smashed avocado, fruit purees, olive oil to avoid salt.) Start by dipping strips of food into the dip and handing them to baby. By 14 months your child may be able to dip on their own.

Memorial Day dessert and WW friendly birthday pie for me!
3sp for 1/12 of the pie Vanilla Pudding Pie
I used @ww light pie crust from the app
Swipe for the info on the crust
Filling:
28 grams of vanilla pudding mix
1 cup of unsweetened almond milk
Whisk together
Then add 3oz of lite cool whip and use a hand mixer to mix together
When the crust has cooled down, fill the pie plate with the vanilla filling
Add strawberries or any fruit topping
freeze for about an hour before you serve •

Recipe:
Crust:
6 graham crackers
2 tbsp of land o lakes butter spread
Pulse in food processor
Put in a pie plate and pat down until it covers the bottom and some on the sides
Bake in the oven at 350 for about 10 minutes
Filling:
28 grams of regular chocolate pudding mix
1 cup of ff milk
Whisk together
Then add 3oz of lite cool whip and use a hand mixer to mix together
When the crust has cooled down, fill the pie plate with the chocolate filling
Add strawberries or any fruit topping

I don’t know what it is about this pregnancy that has me wanting muffins and sweets Thankfully, I got my secret weapons so I can not go overboard with all the sugar and calories. And they taste just like a regular not-so-great-for-you muffin so my taste buds don’t even know the difference! ⠀

Banana Apple Muffins⠀
Serves 9 (1 muffin each)⠀
⠀
Ingredients:⠀
2 large eggs, lightly beaten⠀
1 c mashed ripe banana⠀
1Tbsp organic, grass fed butter melted⠀
1c almond flour (if not using flax seed do 1 1/2c flour)⠀
1/2c ground flax seed⠀
3/4tsp baking soda⠀
1 dash Himalayan salt (or sea salt)⠀
1/2c chopped apple⠀
⠀
Directions:⠀
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare 9 muffin cups by lining with tin liners or coating with spray. Combine eggs, banana, and butter in medium bowl, mix well. Set aside. Combine flour, flax seed, baking soda, and salt in medium bowl. Mix well. Add dry mixture to wet mixture; mix until blended. Add Apple; mix until just blended. Divide batter evenly (i used 1/4c) between prepared muffin cups. Bake 16-18 minutes or until golden brown and you can put a toothpick in the center and it comes out clean. ⠀

Pancake bites! 1sp for 2! Made these this morning for my boys and they loved them! Easy to make and great for on the go breakfast! Keep in the fridge for the week and just warm them up! Next time I’ll try adding bacon or sausage for sweet and savory bites!
Recipe:
1/2 cup of Kodiak pancake mix ( I used the chocolate chip one)
1/4 cup of almond milk
1 egg
1/4 tsp of baking powder and salt
Mix ingredients together
Grease muffin tin
Put about 1/2 tbsp of batter in each for 12 bites
Sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar
350 degrees for 10 minutes

The girls have both been super fussy recently which I know is normal, it shall pass but man it’s frustrating. To try to keep their fruit & veg intake up I’ve been making lots of smoothies and milkshakes. I’ve been buying the frozen smoothie packs from @sainsburys which I find super easy to just whap in the blender. This one was a banana & strawberry pack to which I added some flax seeds, chai seeds, a little honey and topped up with their @alpro growing up milk
They’ve both had the cold and haven’t been eating as much so to keep their calorie intake up I’ve been adding nut butters too. A favourite just now is a banana, cacao and peanut butter milkshake
