This time last year I was in a wheelchair, this time last year I was so scared I would not be able to do the things I did again, this time last year I wished I didn’t come back on the operation table and I didn’t even care how selfish that was to the loved ones I had around me and to those like beautiful Baker who didn’t get to have a second chance like me in life. Nobody will ever understand a stoma bag and the battles we go through with one until you have one. It really put life into perspective for me for the better, I LOVED my Stoma bestie ‘ It’ she saved my life , it was her or death. This time last year I was freaking out on why I didn’t see anything, or my grandad or God , did this mean there was no life after ? Even if it wasn’t for long why didn’t I see anyone? I have battled with real bad insomnia since, it was hell last year within myself and relationships I had to fight this alone. TODAY One year on I am getting ready to throw my own Fashion Show to raise awareness and raise money for @crohnsandcolitisuk and @brighterfuturesnhs ( link in bio), a year on I have had my stoma bag removed and the girl who was too scared to look at her scar and who thought her belly was ugly and ruined forever is in LOVE with her scar and so so proud of all the things I have overcome and achieved. Yes I have a long way to go, yes I am still suffering from PTSD BUT I have not let this control me, I get my good days and I get my bad days but I am so GRATEFUL I am alive, and so GRATEFUL I can show other people how we should not be afraid to show who we are and show our bodies off how they are. SAY NO to photoshopping flaws out SAY NO to photoshopping out scars. SAY NO to anyone who puts you down, or doesn’t love you for all of you, and who isn’t there for you when you really need them the most. SAY NO to bio oil. SAY YES to flaunting what God has gave you, SAY YES to standing up for what’s right and body power SAY YES to loving those who love you correctly. We are all worthy, we are beautiful, and to those who didn’t see that in me quite frankly FUCK YOU! Everything happens for a reason, this is God’s story for me and my path is set out I am proud, This is ME! ✨

I have been so embarrassed to speak about this, but other people’s stories inspired me to speak out! I was diagnosed with severe Crohn’s at the age of 16, after being severely unwell for 7 months. I was unexplainably weak, fatigued, underweight & constantly in pain to the point where I had to quit college as I couldn’t even shower myself, and I lost all my independence completely. I didn’t think much of it when I started getting ill, I thought it was just stress! I didn’t tell anybody until the end of August, and that’s when I started going for regular tests etc, for 4 months until I went for a procedure in December, which gave me my diagnosis. I was put onto 14 steroids a day for a month. Until my nurse told me that because my illness was so severe, the best option for me would be to receive my medication through IV’s, which is a cannula in your veins to which you receive your medication. I will have to have this every 8 weeks for the foreseeable future, along with other tests regularly. I also developed severe anaemia, which I also need another set of IV’s for regularly, to gain energy. I’m on a drug called Infliximab, and it has honestly given me my whole life back. From something so little as putting weight back on, to being able to go out and get a job and socialise with my friends! I still have to be so careful as my drug is an immunosuppressant, so my immune system doesn’t work the same as the average persons. I’m more prone to illnesses/cancers/infections. But, thankfully, I am in remission now! The NHS have been a god send. Every time I go for my IV’s it costs the NHS £2,000 as my drug is a type of chemotherapy. That proves just how amazingly lucky we are to have the NHS!!! Having an invisible illness, makes you value life so much more & makes realise how lucky you really are. It puts everything into perspective and makes you so grateful, appreciative and thankful for the support to get back to having a normal life! #ItTakesGuts to talk about Crohn’s. This is Elisha’s story @elishawinfieldsmith

Thank you @aeishareese for sharing your touching story and giving us hope and optimism to fight our own battle with our diseases! We fight on, TOGETHER! #friendswithcrohns ❤️ Repost ・・・ “Shortly upon moving to NYC to pursue my career on Broadway in 2014, I hit rock bottom and  was diagnosed with an inflammatory bile disease called, Crohn’s Disease. To prevent my intestines from nearly exploding due to inflammation, I had an emergency surgery, called a temporary colostomy, which included wearing a pouch over the abdomen. This surgery gave me hope! I was able to move forward with my life, career, and relationships. Three years later, I was expected to have a reversal surgery, which would remove the pouch and allow me to live a “normal” life. However, my life took another turn. Last year, due to blood clots, I endured ten surgeries, lost my colon,  waited for a colon transplant, received a colon transplant and lost it. I am currently waiting for another transplant. This may seem tragic, but God always turns our ashes into beauty.  You see... God himself completely healed me of Crohn’s Disease by removing the colon. God revealed to me that he needed my life to be the evidence of His existence. Receiving the transplant from the doctors would’ve been great, but God’s way is greater! More details of my story is outlined on my documentary vlog on YouTube, Miracles Work, where you can watch and witness the miraculous with your own eyes!” @Awarecasues is important to me because I want anyone battling Crohn's Disease to know that they are not alone.  You are MORE than the disease....you have more to offer the world! If you believe with all your heart, you too can be healed.” #awarecauses

Great words of advice from @thecfarrell, asking questions will always make you comfortable and understand everything better! Also, eat lots of cake and popcorn when possible! #friendswithcrohns ❤️ Repost ・・・ Post procedure food of the gods. Not pictured is apple juice. People get so worried and scared about out patient procedures but they’re a piece of cake (oooh that sounds good after having to not eat solids for an entire day). Don’t be afraid to ask questions from your doctors and nurses. You’ll be better for it. ✌

SCAR PROGRESSION. I got a big ass hole in my stomach, where my beloved ‘It’ used to be. It’s healing nice though. The scab has only just dropped off, so I still have to keep a dressing on it. Trust me it wasn’t pleasant lol but now it can begin to heal properly , can we just the itchyness is NOT okay ✨
