I love the idea of bringing the outside in, especially in the colder months. ⁣ ⁣ Autumn is a great time of year to forage outdoors for resources that can be used in play. Almost everything can be incorporated into a small world and imaginary play. We have had some large pieces of bark in our place spaces for some time now. I have seen them used in home corner dramatic play, for cubby building and for creating little homes for these wooden animals. ⁣ ⁣ The best pieces you can have in a play space are those that ignite imaginations and creativity - our store is built on this belief but it just so happens that nature provides us with this sometimes too ❤️

Strawberries This is a wonderful time of the year! If you have a strawberry plant, you will find lots of lovely strawberry buds. Still green and small, but they are there! It’s time to lay some straw underneath them to stop little critters from eating them as they ripen. This is why they are called Strawberries! Quite literally Berries from the Straw! It seems so obvious now, but growing up I never grew them, so had never made that connection. I am so hopeful that this new generation of little people will have a deeper connection to the food that they eat. Times are changing! Also, this little ambrosius fairy was a gift to my daughter this morning. I am not generally one for rewarding behaviour... but we’ve been potty training, and some kids just need help through the mental barrier with a little incentive. Worked a charm!
